According to schedule, we had our breakfast around 9AM ish and then traveled towards Yang Ming Shan!
Directions: Take MRT to Shilin Station.
Then take bus 260, Red5, mini bus 15 or 19 to Yang Ming Shan
The bus ride takes about 20 minutes.
We arrived at Yang Ming Shan but didn't know where to go, so we just walked around and everywhere. I saw online that you should go when the flowers bloom which is Feb/March (We went in Jan) We still went there just to take a look, and the next stop I'm going would be Zhu Zi Hu as recommended by another blogger I read online. She mentioned about the flower clock which is supposedly on the way there, so we went searching for the flower clock!
Here we are at the flower clock!
And off we go to Zhu Zi Hu!
Directions from the other blogger: From
the flower clock area, walk towards the carpark, down the slope and cross the
road (about 4-5 mins). Take bus 8 or 9 (locals call it 小八
(xiao ba),小九(xiao
jiu)). Before you board the bus, ask the driver if it goes Zhuzihu. The
ride should take you 20 mins or so!
There we are at the bus stop, waiting for the bus to come. And I remember the wind was blowing quite strongly.
Took the bus and arrived at Zhu Zi Hu.
I have no expectations on what it looks like and what it is about, and I alighted at this village... It was a stretch of shops along the road, mostly restaurants, and some farms!
Pretty pretty sight~
We walked down the village and there was this shop that was selling fruits AND OMG WAS IT SWEET. We tasted the guavas (and I don't really eat guavas), but it was really sweet and yummy and everything nice and we were contemplating whether to buy or not... but in the end we didn't because they only sell in like 4 or 5 and obviously we can't finish so we didn't get it :(
The blogger that recommended us to go Zhu Zi Hu also recommended that we eat 酱油丸子, which translates to Soy Sauce Balls. It is at this Japanese looking restaurant! The place (the entire place) was super quiet and I think not many tourists go there, we ordered one of the Soy Sauce Balls and I honestly though it was like fishballs or something, but it turned out to be Mochi!! My bf liked it a lot because he likes chewy stuff, I really like the sauce though! It's like eating Tori Q but like Tori Q Mochi LOL!
After roaming Zhu Zi Hu, we headed to Danshui!!!
I believe we took bus 108 back (or just go back to the bus stop and look at the information/ask bus drivers) to the nearest MRT station and took to Danshui MRT!
Directions: Turn left, and keep along the esplanade. Go to Danshui Old
Street
Remember, if unsure, always ask the locals. You're in Taiwan!!! The people there are ALWAYS 24/7 ALWAYS happy to help you :) It's quite easy to find though, cuz everybody is heading there. You can just follow the crowd!
On the way to Danshui Old Street~
Some of the delicacies in Danshui Old Street are Ah Gei, Fishballs, Tie Dan, and Hong Ma Sour Plum Soup. Some say the fishballs are not nice but we tried just for the sake of trying~
I don't really like the food though HAHAHA
Him and his carbonated drink. No coke so Fizzy Fuji Apple drink for him lol!
Black Pig Sausage! So nice hor got design one!
We stopped by this massage place because we have been walking around quite a bit so we decided to reward ourselves! Then we realised all the masseurs are disabled people, the one who massaged me was blind but she was really nice and asked me to guide her and stuff. I feel quite happy to be paying for their service because it encourages them in some sorta way. Like they are disabled but they are definitely not useless...? Do I make sense? :/
After massage, we had ice cream! The very popular ice cream, WHICH IS NOT NICE PLEASE DO NOT BUY. The flavour is so diluted and the texture just tastes like shaved ice. Lucky we bought the small one (shorter) instead of the large or longer one.
Then we had quail eggs! :)
NOMMY DOODNESS
Against the vast ocean :) Such nice scenery~
Very nice hor, like very relaxing!
We bought tickets to Fishermen Wharf at the back of Danshui Old Street, and it was about 4PM I remember so I was rushing to buy the tickets so that we can catch the sunset at Fishermen's Wharf. Taiwan's sun sets REALLY EARLY, I noticed it being around 5-5:30PM so I didn't wanna risk anything and wanted to get there early!
On the vessel to Fishermen's Wharf :)
The Lover's Bridge!
Sun is about to set!
Tried to take some photos while waiting for the sun to set!
LOL WAT?
Trying to take the setting sun, but lol the camera not good enough to capture it :/ The focus is always either or one -___- Either you can see our face or you can see the sun LOL
This shot not bad lah but cannot see my bf's face #fail
Selca~
Aiya the focus is fail. But still~
Lover's bridge! LOL we took these.... standing on the bench so it would captured the bridge #shamelesstouristmuch
At the end of the bridge :)
We then headed to Shilin Night Market via train.
Alight at Jiantan station, then follow the crowd to Shilin Night Market!
Our FIRST xxl chicken over there and I wonder if it's even legit cuz it only had like 2 choices or something. And wasn't that nice :/ But it was from Hot Star in the underground Shilin market.
We also bought this Da Chang Bao Xiao Chang? I didn't want it but my boyfriend wanted it...
I ended up hating it so my bf ate it, but he also never finish lah!
Stopping by to play some games! He didn't win lah but he managed to shot down 2 of those ping pong balls! #proudgflol
Somehow our stomachs are always NOT hungry so we didn't try a lot of food... I remembered the night we went to Shilin Night Market was the COLDEST night of all. It was 10/11 degrees out and we were freezing!!!! So we stopped by this shop which seems SUPER famous because the queue is long and OH THE SMELL IS SO AROMATIC it's like you can already taste the soup when you smell it. Ahhh~
We bought (tabao) a pack of soup and the soup ended up being our hot pack! HAHAHA we would still make this joke whenever we get cold in other places. "Buy a packet of soup and hold it!"
Queued for this cheese potato, also tabao-d it cuz my stomach seriously no space....
Looks so good and everything hor??? But when I went back to the hotel and eat it, it tasted legit like shit........ The recommendation was Prince's Cheese Potato so I guess if you guys go, you should find the Prince brand one (王子 起士马铃薯) Or maybe you just have to eat it on the spot.... I'm not sure but it really tasted damn bad when I ate it at the hotel :(
PENIS >w<
We headed back to our hotel after that~ Had our soup which still tasted damn nice!!! Cleaned up and off to bed, ready for Day 5 - our last day in Taiwan!
Stay tuned!
